Our team includes health professionals, educators and support workers<br \/>\nrepresenting both traditional Indigenous and contemporary models of care, and uses wholistic<br \/>\nhealth and community development concepts.<\/p>\n<p>This is a part time position involving shift work, including weekends. The hostel operates 24\/7 and<br \/>\nprovides a supportive environment for clients and family members requiring overnight<br \/>\naccommodations; while accessing health care services in Kenora. Maintaining cleanliness of the<br \/>\nfacility is a requirement of the position. The position may also involve client and family crisis, and<br \/>\nfacilitating access to other WNHAC or community resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: Indigenous traditional practices involving burning sacred medicines including tobacco, sweetgrass, sage and cedar and other cultural protocols occur regularly within our<br \/>\nwork setting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>minimum OSSD or equivalent; some experience working in the health care field an asset<\/li>\n<li>sound understanding of Indigenous culture, values, and perspectives;<\/li>\n<li>experience working in an Indigenous organization; ability to understand and speak<br \/>\nAnishinaabemowin is a definite asset<\/li>\n<li>good oral and written communication skills (including computer skills)<\/li>\n<li>good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of people<\/li>\n<li>ability and willingness to work shift hours and weekends<\/li>\n<li>current criminal\/vulnerable person\u2019s records check<\/li>\n<li>commitment to ongoing training and professional development relevant to job<br \/>\nrequirements positive attitude and capacity to act as a healthy lifestyle role model<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, July 18th, 2025<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease send resume with covering letter and three references, to:<br \/>\nHostel Worker Position<br \/>\n<strong>Email<\/strong>: hrteam@wnhac.org<br \/>\n<strong>Website<\/strong>: WNHAC.org<br \/>\n<strong>Fax<\/strong>: (807) 467-8341<br \/>\n<strong>Phone<\/strong>: (888) MYWNHAC<\/p>\n<p><em>We thank all applicants for their interest in this position; however, please note only those selected for an <\/em><br \/>\n<em>interview will be contacted.
