Clinical

Nurse practitioners and physicians offer a broad range of health care services including assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Our goal is to support people to achieve and maintain the best possible overall health. Our services range from care for acute, occasional illness to supporting management of chronic diseases.

Diabetes Services

WNHAC offers a comprehensive array of culturally appropriate specialized services aimed at supporting people to live well with diabetes and avoid secondary impact as much as possible.  Services include controlling blood glucose levels and regularly monitoring other health indicators related to secondary impacts of diabetes. 

Indigenous Midwifery Service

Wholistic primary care for the birthing person and their babies from pre-conception, through pregnancy and the post-partum period.

Footcare Services

Regular footcare is aimed at maintaining foot health and early identification of potential concerns such as nerve damage or infections. 

Pharmacist Services

Book a private session with our pharmacist for personalized support, including:

  • Medication reviews and adjustments
  • Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma)
  • Over-the-counter recommendations
  • Minor ailments treatment
  • Integration of cultural and traditional medicine

Dietician Services

Registered Dietitians are health care professionals who are trained to provide advice and counselling about diet, food and nutrition. Our dietitian will work with you to develop a personalized plan that helps to address your medical concerns such as:

  • Chronic disease management (ex. Obesity, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure)
  • Gut health (ex. IBS, crohns, ulcerative colitis)
  • Infant/Child nutrition (ex. Failure to thrive, food allergies, picky eating).

Clinic Nurse Care Coordinator

The Clinic Nurse/Care Coordinator is part of a client-centered professional team who works with other health care providers to facilitate coordination of client care.   Some of the services they provide include immunizations, blood pressure monitoring, ear flushing, STI testing/screening and wound care.

Phlebotomist

The phlebotomist is a trained healthcare professional who specializes in drawing blood from patients for medical testing when requested by a nurse practitioner or doctor.  Phlebotomists ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of blood samples and maintain patient comfort and safety during the procedure.
